Nilou Tangaliya Kala Cotton Saree

Details
Handwoven in the Tangaliya technique of Bhuj, Gujarat, this saree carries the quiet mastery of the Dangasia weaver community, known for creating raised ‘daana’ motifs directly on the loom. Unlike embroidery or print, each dot is formed by wrapping contrasting threads around the warp, a technique that requires precision passed through generations.
This saree features a deep indigo blue base paired with maroon striped borders and intricate white and red daana motifs, creating a balanced, heritage-rich aesthetic. Made from indigenous, organic, short-staple cotton, Kala cotton is strong, breathable, and naturally textured, with a comforting, lived-in drape that gets softer over time.
A saree for the connoisseur — someone who knows that the most meaningful pieces do not shout; they endure.
This saree comes with a running blouse material in a contrasting shade.
